About SK8school and Eastbourne Roller Disco.

SK8school was founded in 2003 by Eastbourne skate enthusiast and instructor Tim Wheals. Our aim is to make skating as fun and accessible as possible so that everyone can share in the experience.

We run a program of lessons staffed with some of the most experienced and qualified Quad and Inline Instructors in East Sussex. Our senior instructor has the distinction of being the longest standing Inline instructor in Europe having qualified and taught since 1995.

We also run Roller Discos in partnership with the local Council. We started out in Cavendish Sports Centre nearly a decade ago before moving to Hampden Park then finally, in 2016, relocating to Eastbourne Sports Park where our Eastbourne Roller Disco provides skaters with the largest indoor skating area in the South.

Not only do we work with the Council providing roller discos, we also work with most of the local Primary Schools running After School Skate Clubs. This means our staff must have the necessary DBS checks, insurance and documentation and as such we are only permitted to have staff aged 18 or over working with us.

Behind the scenes you can also find us supporting and contributing to many charities and local groups in the form of galas, entertainment and prizes. In the recent Eastbourne Sports Festival to raise funds for the NSPCC we were proud to have been the main contributor to the final sum. However, when we run the show ourselves rather than simply contributing, we achieve even more… our last 2 fund raisers for local causes brought in nearly £4,500!

Not only that we regularly donate to secondary schools and many groups around the local area.
